nachdem mein mann sein homeoffice aufgegeben hat, konnte ich mir freudig das frei gewordene zimmer unter den nagel reißen...ein graues bett, ein kleiner sekretär, dunkelgraue wandfarbe und ein regaleinbau später...schon ist das gästezimmer...nein, halt, noch nicht fertig - da fehlt noch irgendein schlauer hingucker an der grob verputzten wand!

1, 2, 3...teller (oder runde holzzuschnitte) mit der gewünschten farbe anmalen (hier "graue eminenz" von alpina), schöne scherenschnitte aus folie schneiden (Bilder aus dem Internet) und auf die teller kleben...an die wand und
...FREUEN!

after my husband abandoned his home office, I bogart the unoccupied room...a grey bed, a small secretary, dark grey wall paint and a shelf installation later...and the guest room is...no, stop, not done yet - a smart eyecatcher on the rough plastered wall is missing!

lacquer 1, 2, 3...plates (or round wood cutting boards) with your desired color, cut nice silhouettes out of foil and add on the plates...on the wall and

ich genieße es gäste einzuladen, mir gendanken über das menü zu machen, die zutaten einzukaufen und zuletzt kommt dann die kür...jawohl, der gedeckte tisch!

actually I enjoy inviting friends to dinner, choosing the menu I would like to cook, shopping for ingrediens and finally the cream-topping...yup, the well-laid table!

hierbei schaffen platzteller, zwischen all den gläsern und dem besteck, struktur und ruhe - 

und aus diesem gewichtigen grund habe ich kürzlich sechs runde schönheiten in meinem bastelkeller gezaubert...

for this, underplates are best for structure and arrangement...between all the glasses and the flatware. and this is a grave reason to create this six round beauties...

finally coat with latex paint (hardware store)

ja, kaum zu glauben (...aber wahr), mein schicker buster owl aus übersee hat nun endlich die längst angekündigte erleuchtung erlangt,

...und nun hängt er lässig bei gemütlichen 40 watt in unserer guten stube rum!

yes, incredibly enough, my fancy buster owl from overseas finally dressed up and gained the long overdue enlightenment...

...and now he hangs around the parlor and impresses with cosy 40 watt......well, there we go!

das kissen wurde getestet, allgemein für gut befunden und, wie zu erwarten, umgehend konfisziert...somit habe ich bedauerlicherweise momentan keinen direkten zugriff darauf...und muss meinen kopf weiterhin auf ollen kamellen betten...toll!

...die frage ist, muss ich mir evtl. bald mal sorgen machen um mich? oder läuft das hier jetzt noch unter künstlerischer schaffenskraft?

gestern abend habe ich jedenfalls aus einem inneren bedürfnis heraus (...oder nennen wir es doch lieber spielerei - das klingt weniger verzweifelt) diese kleine fotomontage gezaubert (...nein, leoparden haben keine blauen augen - ja, das sind meine!)
heute bei tageslicht wirkte das ganze schon etwas gruselig und nach einiger überlegung kam ich zu der überzeugung, dass dieses, nennen wir es mal, tierische rollenspiel seinen ursprung in einer animalischen gehirnwäsche hat, der ich seit neustem täglich unterzogen werde...meine kinder zwingen mich jeden tag mit ihnen "das waisenhaus für wilde tiere" zu gucken...woran ich allerdings nicht ganz unschuldig bin, denn meinem sohn habe ich fest versprochen, dass wir einige zeit auf harnas verbringen werden...ist mir recht - hier ist mir eh zu kalt...grrrrrrrrrr... 

...question is, do I have to worry about myself lately? or does this still run under creative power? anyway, yesterday evening I created this little photo composition (...no, leopards usually do not have blue eyes - yes, that's me) out of an inner need, or let's say dalliance...sounds less desperate!
this morning, in the cold light of the day, it appears a bit creepy to me and after a moment's consideration I grasp that this animal role play comes from a daily brainwashing by my kids. recently they force me to watch "das waisenhaus für wilde tiere"...every day! well, actually I'm definitely not entirely blameless in this matter, because I promised my son that we're gonna spend some time in harnas...honestly, that's ok with me - it's too cold here anyway...grrrrrrrrr....

the globe, the om...and the perfect stopgap!

...in der regel versuche ich nicht zu sehr an materiellen dingen zu hängen..."alles ist vergänglich - besitz macht nicht glücklich"...das ist auch für mich nicht neu, obwohl meine vollständige buddhistische erleuchtung wohl noch einige leben auf sich warten lässt.

allerdings gibt es momente...und jetzt kommen wir zur eigentlichen geschichte...in denen nur noch ein demütiges "om" mich davon abhält laut loszuheulen. so geschehen, als meine süße kleine tochter, unschuldig spielend, im sauseschritt meinen über alles geliebten vintage globus aus paris (...ja, er war aus glas!) in tausend kleine geologische puzzelstücke verwandelt hat...zu retten gab's da nichts mehr - loslassen war die einzige option!

traurig stand das nackte dreibein-gestell seitdem im keller, in der hoffnung auf einen passenden ersatz...bis zu dem tag, an dem ich eine milchige folie in die hände bekam...und schwuppdiwupp, zweimal um die ecke gedacht...schon wurden aus dem stück folie, 20 schlanke streifen. und aus den 20 schlanken streifen, fächerförmig montiert, die perfekte lieblings-lampe!

...kurz und knapp und frei nach buddha: "leben lernen heißt loslassen lernen!" ...und verdammt nochmal das beste draus machen...

usually I try not to get severely attached to too many material things..."possessions doesn't make us happy - everything is passing"...even I know that, although my entire path through complete enlightenment will probably take a few more lives.

however, there are moments...and actually this is the main story...when only a humbly "om" can save you from burst out crying. that's what happend to me, when my sweet little daughter, innocently playing, smashed my beloved vintage globe from paris (...yes, made of glass!)...after all, nothing left to patch - letting go was the only option! 

sadly stored in the basement, the three-legged rack waited in hopes of gaining compensation...till the day I held an opaque plastic sheeting in my hands...and hey presto!...if you think outside the box, you create outside the box...I designed my fav lamp out of 20 plastic strips!

...short and crisp and freely adapted from buddha: "learning to live is learning to let go"...and gosh darn it, making the best out of it...

HaPpY new year...

ja, es ist wahr, der 2011-endjahres-blues hat mich ein wenig faul werden lassen...heute morgen habe ich mit meiner tochter himmlisch gemütlich im bett gefrühstückt, den regentropfen am fenster zugeschaut und mir wohlig die bettdecke über den kopf gezogen. 

mein haus-und hof-eigener energieregler steht auf spar-und "call a pizza"-modus und damit befinde ich mich offiziell im winterschlaf. nach anfänglich schlechtem gewissen, bin ich nun zu der überzeugung gekommen, dass ich damit goldrichtig liege...

 nichtsdestotrotz (...wahnsinnswort!) habe ich euch ein kleines neu-jahrs-viel-glück-und-rutscht-gut-rein-foto gebastelt...was sein muss, muss sein...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

yes, it's true, the 2011-end of the year-blues made me kind of lazy...this morning I had a lovely cozy breakfast in bed with my little daughter, up to my neck under my duvet, watching the raindrops on the window.

my personal power control switch is adjusted to energy saver- and "call a pizza"- mode and with that I'm officially ready for hibernation. after initially felt bad about it, now I'm convinced that it's just perfect...

heute ist mir diese alte weihnachtskarte in die hände gefallen...und augenblicklich konnte ich alles wieder genau vor mir sehen:

u-bahnstation - in den passfotoautomat...schminken, stylen, rein ins kostüm, (...welche grimasse passt am besten?) ...und nach jedem foto schnell umziehen. die leute glotzen und wir haben spaß ohne ende...so wie ich heute!

today I digged up this old x-mas card...and currently I could see everything in my mind's eye:
